The variables in boolean algebra can only have two possible values: true or false, often represented by the numbers 1 and 0, respectively. In contrast to elementary algebra, where addition and multiplication are the two fundamental operations, Boolean algebra's primary operations are conjunction, disjunction, and negation. Similar to how elementary algebra explains numerical relations, boolean algebra illustrates logical relations. Certain graphics illustrate Boolean functions and their various operations. They are known as logic gate diagrams. Since the beginning, logicians, mathematicians, philosophers, computer scientists and programmers, electronic engineers, etc. have paid special attention to Boolean algebra and logic gates. The foundation of modern computer technology is boolean algebra.

Boolean algebra is used to build and simplify electronic circuits that are mostly employed in computers, which is one of its most significant uses. The smallest memory component in a digital computer is referred to as a bit. The computer stores all of its data and programming in combinations of bits. A bit can only accept one value between 0 and 1. A logic gate is any gate or device that implements a Boolean function. It performs a logical operation on one or more input bits and outputs a straightforward bit. The essential components of every digital system are these gates. The following logic gates are often used: AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, etc.
